About

I am an African American Artist from the Jersey Shore born and raised in city of Long Branch. I earned my Bachelors degree in Art at Monmouth University where I learned to hone my artistic skills in a variety of mediums. I enjoy painting the most. As an artist I understand the narrative and value of Black Art and how we are represented in art as being relevant, relatable, essential, meaningful, and significant.

When I’m creating, I am happy. It always came natural to me to draw and create when I was a child. I’ve been drawing ever since I could hold a pencil. Being self-taught so very young, I’ve always observed the world around me, allowing me to see the true beauty in people, places, and inanimate things. This gives me inspiration.

My artwork is inspired by specific moments in my life, and the things I see that inspire and move me to create. I see inspiration all around me. Art is one of the highest forms of self-expression and it holds a lot of power because of its insight, influence and inspiration. I believe that most people have a special gift and those who are blessed with such must constantly hone and perfect their craft. Learning is a lifelong journey. Being an artist is a blessing and I’m grateful to be able to share.

He who works with his hands and his head and his heart is an artist,” Francis of Assisi.
